Thanuja Ananthan is wearing a gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana flower dress (shop it here HERE), and a Louis Vuitton Capucines GM bag (shop it HERE).
Standing at almost 6-feet tall with voluminous curls that sit atop her lanky frame, plus a mega-watt smile to boot, it’s quite impossible not to notice the presence of this stunning beauty. After all, the law & business graduate has been a prominent face in the industry ever since she took home the crown as Miss World Malaysia 2010 – her second attempt at the pageant after only being a finalist the year before. And it was worth the shot too, as it opened more doors for the Penangite as she now keeps busy with hosting, modelling and acting assignments – something that her identical twin sister also dabbles in – while being an animal advocate.
Style Tribute: When are you the happiest?
Thanuja Ananthan: When I’m on stage – I love being on stage, especially when I get to interact with people cos I consider myself a people-person. I enjoy engaging the crowd and being able to make them laugh. It’s also a form of escapism for me as I’m a happy soul on stage; nothing else matters.
ST: How do you feel about winning Miss World Malaysia in 2010?
TA: It’s a dream come true! I’ve always wanted to represent my beautiful country on the international Miss World stage since I was 5 years old.
ST: Why is living healthily important to you?
TA: Living a healthy lifestyle keeps me happy and healthy beyond anything. My energy levels are at its optimum, which keeps me going through my hectic lifestyle. As they say, health is wealth! Without it, nothing moves.
ST: Your definition of a work out?
TA: Working out should be a lifestyle that’s equally fun. It’s important to sweat at least 30 minutes a day to rid your body of toxins and maintain a healthy blood circulation in your system.
ST: What would you wear to exude the ultimate #girlboss?
TA: A classic white Giorgio Armani suit. Nothing talks and walks like a woman in a pristine white suit – it oozes so much sophistication!
ST: Which is your fave Style Tribute piece?
TA: The body-hugging Dolce & Gabbana floral printed dress, which I wore on set for the #unlockingherwardrobe campaign. It makes me feel like a natural woman!
ST: Sustainable fashion is…
TA: The future! It’s definitely the way forward to have the environment in mind in order to ensure that our ecosystem is well-preserved. As an animal activist working in the fashion industry, I’m all for saving our flora and fauna in the name of fashion.
ST: What’s the one vintage item you treasure the most?
TA: Wow, that’s a tough one. But I’ll have to go with my mum’s classic Chanel scarf.
ST: Share with us your golden rules when it comes to style.
TA: Less is more! And always wear something that you’re absolutely comfortable in. You can’t go wrong with these two tips!
ST: Tell us, what’s one animal print that’s you’ll never wear?
